What is the one thing that every football themed party misses? No, not good beer–the cardboard standups of favorite players! There is no better way than to bring the game to life in your living room than by adding in a few good decorations to both set the mood and entertain your guests when they arrive. Cardboard standees of your favorite players are not only a great collector’s item, but they also help to get people in the mood for the game and act as a great conversation piece before it starts.

If you really want to plan a fantastic party consider a total living room transformation into a football stadium. This can be accomplished by ordering a couple of very simple decorations to set up around the house. A roll or two of stadium-themed background sheets to tape onto the walls will cover up those embarrassing high school pictures and replace them with a roaring crowd in no time flat. Cardboard standups of players in the corners will bring the game directly into the living room, particularly if you get a green carpet or some astroturf to cover the floor.

Then, once the game is on half-time your cardboard cutouts offer another way to entertain: playing catch! If you have access to an outdoor space take the time to set up the disposable cutouts at the edge of your yard, as far back as possible. Then hand each guest a football and see who can throw the most accurate pass to the cardboard player at the other end of the yard. Best out of three tries wins the game!
